HCL accepts files that contain drawings and points:
Below is a list of reasons you may need to upload a file, and which file type would be acceptable for the tablet:
- Drawing File: a file that depicts the line work and elements that depict the design you are working on
- .dwg, .dxf, .ifc filetype
- Drawing data that depicts linework, text, and other information related to a digital version of a project. It is important to know the UNITS with which the drawing was drafted or saved as (i.e. if a line is "10" units long, is that 10 feet, millimeters, meters, etc.?). If the units are incorrect, the design will be out of scale.
- .dwg, .dxf, .ifc filetype
- Point File: a file that contains point coordinate information of the project you are working on. Usually, these points are also linked to the same coordinate system as the drawing file on the project.
- TXT or CSV file type
- Saved data that has punctuation separating the various values. Users should know the following information before importing these files:
- UNITS: What units is the file sent in? mm, cm, m, inches, US feet, Int feet
- COORDINATES: what is the sequence of coordinates of the data? NEH, ENH, XYH, XYZ, YXH, YXZ
- SEPARATOR: what is the punctuation value that is separating the data points? (Space, TAB, ",", ":", ";")
- If any of the above information is selected incorrectly, the points could be interpreted incorrectly, leading to an incorrect coordinate location.
- Saved data that has punctuation separating the various values. Users should know the following information before importing these files:
- TXT or CSV file type
- Project File: a Hilti-specific file type that contains all the drawings, points, and jobs of a specific project you intend to work on in HCL.
- HPL30 file type
- Contains all the specific point types that have been used in that project: Station points, Control points, Layout points, Measured points
- Contains all the CAD elements that have been used in that project: original CAD file that was imported, all additional user-created elements (such as points, lines, arcs, circles).
- HPL30 file type
