"Remeasure Station Setup" Application - How To

  • Updated

Purpose of "Remeasure Station Setup"

Remeasure Station Setup is an extension of performing the backsight check application. Put simply, this application allows you to quickly remeasure your station set up at anytime, especially if there are accuracy concerns with the original set up (such as consistently poor backsight checks). See this article for general suggestions on how to maintain accuracy with a total station as well.

If you believe the restationing process is not as accurate as the original stationing, you can always cancel and maintain the original.

How-to Step 1: Open the Application

Open the "Remeasure Station Setup" application:

How-to Step 2: Automatic Measurements

The total station will attempt to automatically remeasure every control point used in the original stationing process. Let the tool complete this process and you will then be able to perform your own manual measurements if necessary.

The total station, based on the original stationing set up, will remember the location of the control points that were used to determine its current position. If heights were used, the height location of the point will be remembered as well. If the total station is unable to automatically locate the original control points for any reason (such as when heights are disabled), remember that you can still manually measure them in as you would in any control point stationing.

How-to Step 3: Manual Measurements (if necessary)

Verify the station setup by checking the control points that the tool measured and manually remeasure any control points of your choosing from the control point list, as you would in normal control point stationing:

How-to Step 4: Accept or Reject the New Stationing

Press the green checkmark to accept the stationing, or press the back button to cancel. If you do cancel, the software will confirm that the original stationing will still be used during your work:
