Angle 3 Pts (Points) Application - How to

  • Updated

The Angle 3 Points application is used to measure the angle of the lines formed when selecting three reference points. This can be useful when checking the alignment of structures or calculating the deflection angles.

How to Measure the Area Between a Set of Points?

  1. Open Your Project: Start by opening any project on your tablet.
  2. Open Application: Either from the home screen or from the side menu in CAD view.
    • If you do not have the 'Angle 3 Points Application' in the home screen, select add shortcut and add the application shown below.
  3. Select 3 Points and Measure: Follow the prompts to get your output.

Once the application is open, select three points in the correct order (with the vertex point as the the second point selected) and the output should appear on the right hand side. The selected points should turn red and lines should appear connecting the points, making an angle (as seen below). To unselect a point, you can click on it again. Once done, to delete the output or to start another measure click on the green check point on the right.

Understanding the Output

Once you have clicked on three points, you will see the relevant measures on the output on the right. The labels of the three points will appear listed under "Point ID" or Pt ID as well as the measures for the two angles. The "Angle right" measure gives you the angle in degrees made on the right of the vertex and the "Angle left" measure gives you the degrees of the angle on the left side of the vertex.
