How to Prepare the PLC 600 to use your own Mobile Network and SIM card

If you have your own SIM card and mobile network provider, and would like it to work on the Hilti PLC 600 tablets, you must first remove the pre-configured, or "provisional package" that is installed.

After removing this provisional package, your SIM card should work. If not, you may need technical assistance either from the SIM card provider or your company's IT.

Note - the provisional package simply predefines APN settings (Access Point Name) on the controller for Hilti-specific SIM cards. If you would like to use your own SIM card, these settings must be removed, and you can manually add your own settings as needed.

Remove the current Pre-configured APN Settings

1. Open Windows Settings
2. Select "Accounts"
3. Select "Access work or school"
4. Select "add or remove provisioning package"
5. Right click (short tap) on the file containing the title "Swisscom SIM settings provisioning" and click "remove".

Note - after completing step 5, it might take time for the provisional settings for Swisscom to disappear. Pictures below of each step are provided, if needed:
