This application is useful if you would like to add points to a line in your file, where the points are directly in line (perpendicular/plumb) to another reference point.
How to Create or Add Points to your File?
- Open Your Project: Start by opening any project on your tablet.
- Open Application: Either from the home screen or from the side menu in CAD view.
- If you do not have the 'Create Perpendicular Point Application' in the home screen, select add shortcut and add the application shown below.
- Select Point Type and Object & Create Point: select where you wish to have your point, in relation to what and what type of point it is.
Once you've opened the application, select the point on your drawing that you want to use as reference (the point that will be projected). Once selected, this point should turn red.
Now select all the lines where you would like to add a point that is perpendicular to the reference point. These should turn red and a perpendicular point should appear along all selected lines. Your point names can also be typed in the right side menu.
Note: the lines you select must be directly in line with the point - the software will not create a point on an "imaginary" extended line - see example below:
Once you've selected all the lines you need and have created the necessary points, click on the green check mark on the right hand side. Your points will now be added to your drawing.
If you wish to unselect a point or a line, simply click on it again and it should go back to its original colour. If you wish to reset all your selections, click on the grey circular arrow on the right hand side of your screen.
