Create Point from Intersection Application - How to

  • Updated

The Create Point from Intersection Application allows you to create points based on two intersecting lines. It is a useful point creation method that allows you to edit the distance of the point from each line, using these as references.

How to Create Point (from intersecting lines)

  1. Open Your Project: Start by opening any project on your tablet.
  2. Open Application: Either from the home screen or from the side menu in CAD view.
    • If you do not have the 'Create Point From Intersection Application' in the home screen, you can select add shortcut and add the application shown below, or navigate to it from the navigation menu.
  3. Select the Lines and Create Point: Select two intersecting lines and create your point.

Point Creation

Select any two intersecting lines. Once selected, they should turn red and a red point should appear at the intersection. Now you can change the point name and type. Simply look at the menu on the right hand side and edit the text box under point name and select the point type that you want (layout or control point).

Edit Point Location

You can also edit the points location by defining the offset distance from each line. Under "Along Line 1", you can edit the distance you want your point to be from the first line you selected (in meters). Then under "Offset" you can define the distance in relation to the second line you selected. Once you are done, select the green check mark to the right of your screen and the point will be added to your drawing.
