The Create Points on 3D Entity Application allows you to quickly and efficiently create points on 3D entities. It's useful to create one or several points on the corners of your surfaces.
How to Create Point on 3D Entity
- Open Your (3D) Project: Start by opening your project on your tablet.
-
Open Application: Either from the home screen or from the side menu in CAD view.
- If you do not have the 'Create 3D Point On Entity Application' in the home screen, you can select add shortcut and add the application shown below, or navigate to it from the navigation menu.
- Select and Create Point: Select the surface where you want to have your point, where you want it (corner, hole) and whether you want multiple or a single point.
Point Creation
On the right hand side of your screen is a menu where you can select the type of point you are making (layout point or control point), as well as the 3D entity location where you would like the point to be created. Use this menu to also name the point(s) you are creating.
The option to create "single" or "multiple" points is simply asking if you would prefer to place your points individually on your 3D object (click by click), or, if you would like to create points at every applicable location automatically when you select your preferred 3D.
As an example, below I tapped specifically on the top corner of this 3D object, and it only placed a point at the location I tapped, as I had "single" selected.
In this example, I had "multiple" selected, and you can see that all corner points were created at once when the object was tapped:
After your points are created, you can always go back and edit them - such as changing their names or attributes. If you need more help managing points, in general, please see this article.
