Offset Point Application - How To

  • Updated

The Offset Point Application allows you to create points based on any line or arc. Once the application is open, simply tap the line or arc you would like to make offset points from and indicate the offset distance. Lastly, indicate the distance for the segments between each offset point you create.

How to Create an Offset Point

  1. Open Your Project: Start by opening any project on your tablet.
  2. Open Application: Either from the home screen or from the side menu in CAD view.
    • If you do not have the 'Offset' application in the home screen, you can select "add shortcut" and add the application shown below, or navigate to it from the navigation menu.
  3. Select the Lines or arcs and Create Point: Select your reference line and create your points.

Point Creation

Select the line that you want as your reference line. Once selected, it should turn red and a red points should appear to the right of your chosen line. Now you can change the point name and type (see this article to understand how to work with points, in general). After, look at the menu on the right hand side and edit the text box under point name and select the point type that you want (layout or control point). Next, you can edit the line interval to change the distance between your points.

Finally, edit the offset value to change the distance of the points from your reference line. You can double click on the line to change the offset of the points form left to right. Make sure to click on the green checkmark when you're done to add the points to your drawing.

Note - you can also add negative values to your intervals and offsets.
