Offset with Length Application - How To

The Offset with Length Application allows you to create a point based using any line or arc and any spot on this line as a reference point. It is a useful point creation method to edit the distance of the point from your chosen line, the location to be taken as reference of your chosen line and the distance 

How to Create Point via Offset with Length

1. Open Your Project: Start by opening any project on your tablet.
2. Open Application: Either from the home screen or from the side menu in CAD view.
   • If you do not have the 'Offset with length Application' in the home screen, you can select add shortcut and add the application shown below, or navigate to it from the navigation menu.
3. Select the Lines and Create Point: Select your reference line and create your points.

Point Creation

Select the line that you want as your reference line. Once selected, it should turn red and a red point should appear on the bottom of your line. To the right hand side of your screen you can see the point line offset creation menu where you can change the point's name edit the point's type: layout or control point (see this article to understand how to work with different point settings). 

Next, you can change the points location in reference to the line by editing the following:

• Line Interval: how far from the starting point of the line's end would you like the point to be offset?
• Line Offset: how far from the line itself would you like the point to be offset (to the left or right of the line)?
• Height: if you would like to apply a height offset as well, you can do so here.

Note - these values can be left as "0" and they can also be negative, according to your needs.

You can double click on the line to automatically reverse all the values indicated in your offsets. Make sure to click on the green checkmark when you're done to add the points to your drawing.
