Segments Application - How To

The Segments Application allows you to create points on any line or arc at specified segment lengths. It is a useful point creation method that allows you to segment a line and create a certain number of points evenly spaced out in that same line. 

How to Create Points with Segments

1. Open Your Project: Start by opening any project on your tablet.
2. Open Application: Either from the home screen or from the side menu in CAD view.
   • If you do not have the 'Segments Application' in the home screen, you can select add shortcut and add the application shown below, or navigate to it from the navigation menu.
3. Select the Lines and Create Point: Select your reference line and create your points.

Point Creation

Select the line that you want as your reference line. Once selected, it should turn red and a red points should appear along the length of it. On the menu in the right hand side, you can change the point name and type: layout or control point (see this article to learn about point types and other point help). 

Next you can select the number of segments you want along the line and points will appear creating even segments.

Alternatively you can also select the segment length and points will appear according to your selected length. Make sure to click on the green checkmark when you're done to add the points to your drawing.
