Using the Camera View

  • Updated

Overview

The Camera View in HCL provides a live visual feed from the PLT to support accurate positioning, alignment, inspection, and verification tasks.

Both PLT 300 and PLT 400 use the same core camera view concept, while the PLT 400 includes additional configuration and overlay options for more advanced use cases.

To open the Camera View, open the View CAD application and click the camera icon at the top of the screen.

Example of the camera icon, if a lock symbol is shown, the device is locked onto a target

Typical Workflow (PLT 300 & PLT 400)

  1. Open the Camera View
  2. Select the prism target type or laser
  3. Position the PLT 300 so the prism or target is visible in the camera view
  4. Align the target using the central crosshair
  5. Adjust the zoom if needed for better visibility
  6. Click the lock icon in the top right of the screen
  7. Wait for the tool to lock onto the prism or target, this is indicated by a camera icon with a lock symbol

Best Practices (PLT 300 & PLT 400)

  • Clean the camera lens regularly for optimal image quality
  • Adjust brightness and resolution on PLT 400 to match the lighting conditions
  • Use overlays on PLT 400 only when needed to avoid visual clutter
  • Carefully confirm alignment before proceeding, especially when high precision is required
