The Settings section in Hilti Construction Layout (HCL) consists of multiple tabs, each dedicated to a specific area of configuration. These settings allow control over general application behavior, display options, measurement accuracy, tool connectivity, system information, and legal preferences.

The General Settings tab contains core configuration options that affect how measurements, coordinates, angles, language, and input behavior are handled throughout the application.

- Height display (on or off)
- Distance units
- Coordinate display and input format

- Application language for HCL
- VA (Vertical Angle) Zero reference
- GPS configuration
- GPS angle sectors for HA (Horizontal Angle) and VA

- CAD view options such as point information, point height, dimensions, tool orientation, scale, direction, and absolute height
- Endpoint behavior for point creation
- Layout‑specific options including auto zoom, map orientation, “from line start” display in line layout, and visible attributes
