Green Layout Circle Visualization Optimized among Apps

The green layout circle (the recommended measuring area) is now much easier to visualize. In the past, this was often only able to visualize during the control point stationing process. Now, you can see the green layout circle throughout several applications in the software.

You can enable the green circle visualization via the tolerance settings for stationing applications or the screen and view settings for measuring applications:

Optimized Self-Help and other Support Options within Hilti Construction Layout

Self-help resources are much clearer and easier to access, as explained fully in this article. The following is now cleanly accessible under the help icon (question mark) at the top of the screen:

Easy access to the software manual
Easy access to begin remote support service sessions
Localized folder for customized training documents for quick access

All of these features are designed to help you troubleshoot issues and investigate problems fast during your workday.

Added Audio Feedback for Point Proximity to Target Location

As explained fully in this article, users can now experience real-time audio guidance during layout tasks. Instead of continuously checking the screen, users receive acoustic feedback that helps guide them toward the target location.

What it does:

Provides audio feedback while moving toward points, lines, or target positions
Confirms when the target has been reached within the required tolerance

Keep in mind that audio feedback is only available for 2D layout applications and does not take height differences into account. The feature is turned on within general settings.

Update Process Simplified

As explained in this article, users are now promptly notified of software, firmware, or help manual updates when opening the HCL software when connected to the internet.

In addition, updated firmware versions, when available, will automatically be downloaded in conjunction with software updates. This reduces the likelihood of needing to manually download individual software or firmware updates in the future.

AI Features are now Introduced for PLT 400-22 (PLT's on the Nuron Battery Platform)

The next generation of PLT 400 is now compatible with Hilti's Nuron battery platform (the PLT 400-22, or, PLT 400 (2)). For this generation of the PLT, AI features are now implemented. Please see this article for the full description. Reminder - these AI features are only available for users that have:

PLT 400-22
PLC 600 (2) tablet or newer

AI Prism Tracker (Intelligent Tracker)

The Intelligent Tracker helps ensure that the PLT remains locked onto the correct prism or target.

Using AI-assisted target recognition, the system continuously verifies that the correct prism is being tracked and can identify situations where nearby objects may interfere with tracking.

This is particularly useful when working near reflective objects such as safety vests, vehicles, glass surfaces, or other materials that may affect target detection. It is also effective at maintaining connection when moving quickly with the prism in close range to the head unit.

When the feature is enabled, a green box is displayed around the prism in the camera view, indicating that the target has been identified and is being tracked.

If the square around the prism turns blue, it indicates that there is other reflective material in the area, but the software is able to maintain connection with the prism through image recognition.

AI Prism Recognition

Prism Recognition helps prevent measurement errors caused by selecting the wrong prism type. If the selected prism type does not match the detected target, the system will suggest changing to the recognized prism type.

You can then choose one of the following options:

Discard the measurement and switch to the detected prism type
Keep the measurement and continue using the currently selected prism type

This feature helps improve measurement reliability and reduces the chance of using incorrect prism settings.

Automatic Calibration Parameter Check

Hilti Construction Layout now enables end users to perform calibration recovery procedures that would normally have to be completed by an internal repair center. See this article for the full details.

While encountering this calibration parameter check procedure is rare, it is designed to reduce downtime and keep the tool operating in the user's hands. Users will be notified when the process is required (it can only be initiated when the software offers a notification), and it is different from a regular field calibration.

When the image below appears, simply begin the "update" process and follow the regular prompts. This will ensure your system continues to understand:

What is "level,"
How "horizontal" and "vertical" angles are defined, and
How to calculate accurate heights
