What does the "Mirrors Blocked" error mean?

  • Updated

When this error appears on your screen, it is likely referring to the four mirrors and lenses that need to be clear for the tool to calibrate itself. It is very likely that if you take light cloth to clear these mirrors that you will be able to clear this error.

Please inspect the lens (1), the collimator (2), and the two calibration mirrors (3). These locations run your calibrations and measurements as the tool is being used, and if anything (usually water or dust) is inhibiting them, it could lead to calibration and measurement failures.

Please remember that if the telescope has fog inside the tool, please see this article on how to slowly remove any moisture that has collected internally on the lens of the tool.

Inspect Water Pooled on the Ground

One last thing to consider is water reflection that may be causing the mirrors to struggle to read each other. Inspect your jobsite - is there excessive water lightly pooled at your location? Look expecially beneath the tool where you are stationed. If so, the tool could be mis-reading the mirrors because of eccessive reflections from the water near the tool.
